Workshop to support the preparation of a training curriculum for domestic workers in Kivu
IDAY submitted a request for technical support to the VET Toolbox (an instrument financed by the European Union) to develop specific training curricula in “housework” in Rwanda and in Kivu (DRC). IDAY was selected and since then collaborates with the VET Toolbox and Enabel (technical implementation agency of this expertise).
IDAY-Rwanda has already finalized the development of the manuals and we are now in full swing in Kivu!
Why develop a specific sector in housework?
To protect the profession and the young domestic workers. By giving them skills, they get better employment conditions. The curriculum also contains cross-cutting life skills (labor law, notion of decent work, etc.).
